A Qing dynasty dragon robe, a Japanese Uchikake, and several casual aloha-style wear are making a fashionable comeback for a limited time as part of the <em>In Style: Celebrating 50 Years of <abbr>东精影业M<\/abbr> Costume Collection<\/em> exhibit, now open for viewing in the <a href=\"http:\/\/library.manoa.hawaii.edu\/about\/exhibits\/bridge.php\">Hamilton Library Bridge Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit represents only a small portion of the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa Costume Collection, which now holds over 10,000 articles representing Hawaiian, Western, and a variety of Asian styles.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/manoa-historic-fashion-doll.jpg\" alt=\"historic fashion Japanese doll\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-38780\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/manoa-historic-fashion-doll.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/manoa-historic-fashion-doll-130x130.jpg 130w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The collection was first established in the 1960s when Professor <strong>Oma Umbel<\/strong>, then a <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa professor of fashion and textiles, returned from a sabbatical leave in Asia with 125 cartons filled with fabric, costumes, jewelry and accessories.
