The funding marks the beginning of an unprecedented effort to improve technology integration in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thelanguageflagship.org\/\">The Language Flagship Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This award recognizes the global stature of <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa and provides more evidence of the success of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span>&#8217;s research university in competing for federal support to advance national and local priorities&rdquo; said <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. &ldquo;More personally, as someone who started my career working with what was then the leading networked information system for education, I couldn&#8217;t be prouder of our <abbr>LFTIC<\/abbr> team for their commitment to leverage today&#8217;s advanced information technologies to serve our students and our nation.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><abbr>LFTIC<\/abbr> will identify and develop best practices for effective language teaching and learning and create a comprehensive plan to integrate technology through The Language Flagship, a national program for undergraduates. Students of The Language Flagship program develop linguistic proficiency and cultural literacy, becoming the next generation of global professionals, which is critical to U.S. competitiveness and national security.<\/p>\n<p><abbr>LFTIC<\/abbr> will better foreign language education and technology initiatives at all levels, expanding beyond those at universities or those impacted by The Language Flagship program, by convening relevant expertise from the private and public sectors. Chief among its goals is to improve teaching and enhance learning.<\/p>\n<p>Languages, Linguistics and Literature (<abbr>LLL<\/abbr>) Dean <strong>Jeffrey Carroll<\/strong> notes that this milestone award acknowledges the breadth and depth of expertise the college has within its faculty and staff. &ldquo;I am pleased that <abbr>LLL<\/abbr> is playing a major role in these important efforts,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julio C Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> and <strong>Madeline K.
