aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span><\/a> campuses worked on ways to synergize the work of <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hokulea.com\/wwv\/\">Polynesian Voyaging Society\u2019s Worldwide Voyage<\/a> at the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> at Hilo\u2019s <span aria-label=\"Haleolelo\">Hale\u02bb\u014dlelo<\/span> in February.<\/p>\n<p>It was the second <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101lama Honua Worldwide Voyage gathering, following <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/2015\/12\/08\/uh-contributes-to-malama-honua-worldwide-voyage\/\">one which was held at College Hill in December<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This meeting had three objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acknowledge the importance of the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> System\u2019s understanding, appreciation and respect for <span aria-label=\"Ike\">\u02bbIke<\/span> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span>i in teaching, research and service.<\/li>\n<li>Refine focus areas and develop action plans for the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> System ideas and projects that surfaced through brainstorming at the last gathering on December 4, 2015.<\/li>\n<li>Connect the M\u0101lama Honua Worldwide Voyage to current <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.hawaii.edu\/strategicdirections\/\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> System initiatives<\/a> to strengthen ongoing work in science, technology, engineering and math (<abbr>STEM<\/abbr>), sustainability and becoming a model indigenous serving institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Polynesian Voyaging Society\u2019s Nainoa Thompson told the gathering he wanted to humbly impress upon them how important this meeting was, \u201cto create the conversations to take care of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> for the Earth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> is the best place,\u201d said Thompson. \u201cIt needs its navigators,
