The 东精影业 at Mānoa Shidler College of Business<\/a> has received an endowed scholarship from the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance<\/a> (AFWA<\/abbr>). The AFWA<\/abbr> Cheigh–Luke Endowed Scholarship will provide tuition assistance to the best and brightest accounting students at the college in perpetuity.<\/p>\n

AFWA<\/abbr> has selected the Shidler College of Business School of Accountancy as the recipient of its endowment to assist deserving accounting students in preparing for careers in the field. Many of the leaders and chapter members of AFWA are proud graduates of the college’s accounting program. <\/p>\n

“AFWA<\/abbr> is very excited and honored to know that the wishes of our original donors, Haydon Cheigh (donor of the Lotus Yee Cheigh Scholarship) and the K.J. Luke Foundation (donor of the K.J. Luke Scholarship), will be perpetuated at the Shidler College of Business. These generous donors wished to assist young students in their pursuit of accounting degrees and we could not think of a better program to ensure that the spirit of these scholarships lived on,” said Christina Oh, AFWA<\/abbr> secretary. <\/p>\n

“We are grateful to AFWA<\/abbr> for investing in our accounting students,” says Vance Roley<\/strong><\/a>, dean of the Shidler College of Business. “AFWA<\/abbr>’s service to the community and to the professional development of women in the fields of accounting and finance are to be commended; they are a model organization to have as part of our scholarship program.” <\/p>\n

The Shidler scholarship program provides over $1 million in tuition assistance to deserving business students each academic year. This enables students to graduate on time, without debt and with internship and study abroad experiences. <\/p>\n
