The top 30 honorees have demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics, community service and leadership. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/manoa-athletics-spieler-k-ncaa-award-260x146.jpg\" alt=\"Katie Spieler one of 30 honorees\" width=\"260\" height=\"146\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-49794\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/manoa-athletics-spieler-k-ncaa-award-260x146.jpg 260w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/manoa-athletics-spieler-k-ncaa-award.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Spieler has been a staple of the <abbr title=\"东精影业\">东精影业<\/abbr> Rainbow Wahine program over the past three seasons, and was instrumental in leading <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> to the inaugural Big West Conference Championship. The two-time <abbr title=\"American Volleyball Coaches Association\">AVCA<\/abbr> All-American and 2016 <abbr title=\"College Sports Information Directors of America\">CoSIDA<\/abbr> Academic All-American also proved to be a leader in the classroom. She completed two degrees in accounting at <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr>, including an accelerated master&#8217;s degree, concluding her education with a complete 4.0 grade point average. Spieler was a member of three national tournament teams, was selected to the dean&#8217;s list seven times and was a member of the student-athlete advisory committee.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Katie is a remarkable young woman and very deserving of consideration for this prestigious <abbr>NCAA<\/abbr> award,&rdquo; Beach Volleyball Coach <strong>Jeff Hall<\/strong> said. &ldquo;Her on-court contributions to our program are rivaled only by her tremendous academic accomplishments and outstanding character in the community. We wish her best luck in winning Woman of the Year and knowing Katie, we wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if she did.
