He graduated with his master&#8217;s degree in creative writing from the <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> at M&#257;noa<\/a>, where he also received the Myrle Clark Award with distinction and the Sumie Saiki Award for Fiction. His short stories have appeared in <em>Bamboo Ridge<\/em>, <em><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Review<\/em>, <em>Rio Grande Review<\/em>, and on the radio program Aloha Shorts. In 2012, he was selected as the runner-up in the <em>Honolulu Weekly<\/em> fiction competition, winner in <em>Honolulu Star Advertiser&#8217;s<\/em> Halloween fiction contest and voted Best Writer in Pidgin in <em>Honolulu Weekly&#8217;s<\/em> Best of Honolulu. In 2014, he won the Ian MacMillan Fiction Competition. He currently lives and teaches on <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Christy Passion is a critical care nurse and poet whose works have appeared in local, mainland\u00a0and international journals and anthologies, including <em>Crab Creek Review<\/em>, <em>Haight Ashbury\u00a0Literary Journal<\/em>, <em>Blue Collar Review<\/em> and <em>Mauri Ola<\/em>. She received the James A. Vaughn Award\u00a0for Poetry, the Atlanta Review International Merit Award and the Academy of American Poetry\u00a0Award. She co-authored <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bambooridge.com\/storeitem.aspx?pid=72\">No Choice but to Follow<\/a><\/em>, a collaboration of linked poetry.
