Boland<\/a><\/strong> said, &ldquo;the Hearst Foundation <abbr title=\"Bachelor of Science\">BS<\/abbr> Nursing Scholarship Program gives nurses in rural areas of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> the funds they need to pursue education beyond the community college level. Having <abbr>BS<\/abbr> prepared nurses throughout our rural communities is essential in ensuring our residents have access to quality health care.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Paul &ldquo;Dino&rdquo; Dinovitz, Hearst Foundations executive director added, &ldquo;Grants toward efforts like the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa Nursing Program are an example of our commitment to help leading academic centers respond to the country&#8217;s evolving healthcare needs. The Foundations are pleased to provide continued financial support for nursing students.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Nursing education programs at <a href=\"http:\/\/maui.hawaii.edu\/\">Maui College<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kapiolani.hawaii.edu\/\"><span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> Community College and <a href=\"https:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa<\/a> worked together to increase access to baccalaureate nursing education in <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> by transforming the educational environment. Together, faculties developed one curriculum, academic standards, student learning outcomes and nursing courses culminating into the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nursing.hawaii.edu\/bachelor\"><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Statewide Nursing Consortium<\/a> (HSNC).<\/p>\n<p>The award was made through the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uhfoundation.org\/\"><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>H<span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai&#699;i<\/span> Statewide Nursing Consortium<\/h2>\n<p><abbr>HSNC<\/abbr> offers a <abbr>BS<\/abbr> degree in nursing with innovative, integrated learning opportunities for nursing students throughout the state, regardless of their island of residence. During the first three years, the curriculum is identical at the community colleges and <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa, with seamless transition for students into the fourth (final) year offered through <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa on <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span> or via distance for Maui and <span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> students.<\/p>\n<p>From 2013&#8211;2016, 81 students from Maui College and <a href=\"http:\/\/kauai.hawaii.edu\/\"><span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span> <abbr title=\"Community College\">CC<\/abbr><\/a> earned the <abbr>BS<\/abbr> degree from <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa via the <abbr title=\"Hawaii Statewide Nursing Consortium\">HSNC<\/abbr> pathway.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the generosity of the Hearst Scholarship, 24 students received financial support. <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M&#257;noa Nursing matched $50,000 to further support student success.
