Lori Ideta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Lori Ideta<\/strong>, University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa interim vice chancellor for students, was recognized with the 2017 Fred Turner Award for Outstanding Service from NASPA<\/abbr> Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education<\/a>. The equivalent of a lifetime achievement award, NASPA<\/abbr> honored Ideta for bringing honor and dignity to the student affairs profession. She was honored at the 2017 NASPA<\/abbr> Annual Conference in March.<\/p>\n

As interim vice chancellor for students, Ideta leads the student affairs division<\/a>, which includes the Office of the Dean of Students, Enrollment Management and Student Equity, Excellence and Diversity<\/a>. She has also served as associate vice chancellor, dean of students and faculty specialist at 东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa.<\/p>\n

Ideta has held numerous local, regional and national roles in NASPA<\/abbr>, including serving as the the national co-chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Knowledge Community, the chair of NASPA<\/abbr> Hawaiʻi<\/span> for eight years and the NASPA<\/abbr> Region VI<\/abbr> director from 2014–2016.<\/p>\n

Ideta has been involved with NASPA<\/abbr> for more than 20 years. She also received the Pillar of the Profession Award.<\/p>\n

“She truly believes in developing and nurturing new leadership and has always engaged and mentored students, staff and faculty not only in Hawaiʻi<\/span>, but throughout the nation,” said Christine Quemuel<\/strong>, 东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa interim associate vice chancellor for diversity. “Dr. Ideta is already an outstanding pillar in student affairs, who actively engages the principles of NASPA<\/abbr> passionately and enthusiastically in all aspects of her work.” <\/p>\n
