Students <strong>Will Barden<\/strong> and <strong>Alec Goodson<\/strong>, led by <a href=\"http:\/\/astro.uhh.hawaii.edu\/physics.php\">physics<\/a> lab coordinator <a href=\"https:\/\/hilo.hawaii.edu\/directory\/view\/1814\"><strong>Marc Roberts<\/strong><\/a>, competed among 15 national teams in the <a href=\"http:\/\/nasaswarmathon.com\/\">Swarmathon&#8217;s Virtual Competition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/hilo.hawaii.edu\/news\/stories\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Results-of-2017-Swarmathon-Virtual-Competition.pdf\">Results of 2017 Swarmathon Virtual Competition<\/a> (<small><abbr>PDF<\/abbr><\/small>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Swarmathon Challenge tasked competing students with developing a search and retrieval algorithm for virtual robots to develop real-world strategies for identifying and collecting resources found on places like the Moon and Mars.
