The television series\u00a0Voice of the Sea<\/em><\/a>\u00a0will feature the inspirational Hōkūleʻa<\/span> voyage and homecoming on\u00a0Sunday, August 27, at\u00a06\u00a0p.m.\u00a0on K5 The Home Team<\/a> (KFVE<\/abbr>).<\/p>\n

In this historic episode, we celebrate with original Hōkūleʻa<\/span> builder and crew member John Kruse<\/strong>, navigator Kaʻiulani<\/span> Murphy<\/strong>, science specialist Anuschka Faucci<\/strong>, chief operations officer Heidi Guth<\/strong>, and other important crew members at the M\u0101lama Honua celebration in Honolulu. After sailing more than 40,000 miles using only the stars to guide them, the voyaging canoe Hōkūleʻa<\/span> and its crew members arrived back on the shores of Oʻahu<\/span> more than three years after departing on the historic worldwide voyage.<\/p>\n

Voice of the Sea<\/em>, a weekly 30-minute television series produced by the 东精影业<\/abbr> Sea Grant Center for Marine Science Education<\/a> and the College of Education’s Curriculum Research and Development Group<\/a>, shares stories of scientific, environmental and cultural work in the Pacific.\u00a0Voice of the Sea<\/em>\u00a0aims to engage the community in environmental and societal issues in an exciting, original way, inspire an interest in ocean science and strengthen viewers’ relationships with the ocean and planet. Episodes air at\u00a06 p.m.\u00a0Sundays on KFVE<\/abbr> and can be viewed online<\/a>.<\/p>\n
