He was 90 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Michael led <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> public health for two decades, spending a total of 25 years at the university beginning in 1971. Before coming to <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, he was a rear admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service (<abbr>USPHS<\/abbr>) Commissioned Corps and was the nation&#8217;s youngest <abbr>USPHS<\/abbr> assistant surgeon general.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Dean Jerrold Michael was a scholar and a mentor to many of us in public health,&rdquo; said <strong>Satoru Izutsu<\/strong>, emeritus professor at the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> <a href=\"http:\/\/jabsom.hawaii.edu\/\">John A.
