Parsons, who majored in history at <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, was honored with a <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997 and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/offices\/bor\/honorary.php?person=RP\"><abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters<\/a> in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Dick Parsons has a combination of deep industry knowledge and unmatched corporate and board experience,&rdquo; said <a href=\"http:\/\/investors.cbscorporation.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/richard-parsons-named-interim-chairman-board-directors-cbs\">Candace Beinecke, chair of <abbr>CBS<\/abbr>&#8216; nominating and governance committee<\/a>. &ldquo;We are fortunate to have Dick in this leadership role.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Parsons, 70, is the former chairman of the board of directors of Citigroup Inc. and was on the economic advisory board for President Barack Obama\u2019s transition team. He is the former chairman of the board and <abbr>CEO<\/abbr> of Time Warner Inc. and led its turnaround, setting the company on a path toward achieving sustainable growth. He also served as interim <abbr>CEO<\/abbr> of the Los Angeles Clippers for four months in 2014. Parsons received his undergraduate education at the <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa and his legal training at Union University\u2019s Albany Law School.<\/p>\n<p>Parsons spoke at <abbr>东精影业<\/abbr> about the importance of supporting higher education in 2009, when he was appointed the Dan and Maggie Inouye Chair in Democratic Ideals. This chair, held jointly in the William S.
