The Arbor Day Foundation<\/a> recognized the University of Hawaiʻi<\/span> at Mānoa<\/a> as a 2018 Tree Campus USA<\/abbr>®<\/a> for the campus\u2019 commitment to effective urban forest management. This is the 10th year in a row 东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa has been selected.<\/p>\n

The 320-acre 东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa campus, which is an accredited arboretum<\/a>, has more than 4,000 trees featuring 500 species.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s an honor to be nationally recognized once again by the Arbor Day Foundation,” said Roxanne Adams<\/strong>, 东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa director of buildings and grounds. “The Mānoa campus is a beautiful place to learn and work. This recognition is a source of great pride to the university\u2019s grounds staff, students and volunteers who spend countless hours planting, maintaining, recording and documenting the attributes of each tree.”<\/p>\n

The Tree Campus USA<\/abbr> program honors colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals. <\/p>\n

东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa was honored for achieving Tree Campus USA<\/abbr>\u2019s five standards\u2014maintaining a tree advisory committee, a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and student service-learning project. Currently, there are 364 campuses across the U.S. with this recognition.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve been on campus for more than 40 years and 东精影业<\/abbr> Mānoa has never looked better,” said 东精影业<\/abbr> President and 东精影业<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Interim Chancellor David Lassner<\/strong>. “Our building and grounds team does an amazing job, and the entire university takes great pride in caring for our thoUSA<\/abbr>nds of trees and in the continuing improvements in our environmental stewardship across the campus.”<\/p>\n

“Tree Campuses and their students set examples, for not only their student bodies, but the surrounding communities showcasing how trees create a healthier environment,” said Dan Lambe, president of the Arbor Day Foundation.<\/p>\n

The Arbor Day Foundation has helped campuses throughout the country plant thoUSA<\/abbr>nds of trees, and Tree Campus USA<\/abbr> colleges and universities invested more than $51 million in campus forest management last year. <\/p>\n
