Born on O驶ahu, Kallen spent much of her life growing up in Hawai驶i and lived in Taiwan for 10 years. She is a second-year MA student in the Department of Second Language Studies at the University of Hawai驶i at M膩noa, where she also earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in Second Language Studies. During her undergraduate studies, Kallen taught English in Thailand, focusing on effective speaking and listening. Her academic interests include multilingualism, teacher identity, pedagogical materials development, and Hawai驶i Creole (Pidgin). In her free time, she enjoys lei making, attending concerts, and playing board games with family and friends. This semester, she is a Graduate Assistant providing administrative support for the SLS undergraduate program and a Teaching Assistant at the English Language Institute.
