Student Life Center Hilo – LEED Silver

Overview

The University of Hawai'i at Hilo Student Life Building is approximately 23,000 square feet and is dedicated to the students of UH Hilo. The center houses various fitness resources such as fitness rooms for dance, aerobics, and cardio, an olympic-sized pool, with additional spaces for social interaction such as the open deck and an indoor cafe.

The project earned the LEED Silver rating by incorporating energy-effficient ventilation and daylighting strategies, use of local materials, management of stormwater on the building site, planting of native flora to promote water-efficient landscaping, and more.
