April 15, 11:30am - 12:45pmMānoa Campus, Online
With tools like ChatGPT becoming increasingly accessible to students, we are facing new questions and opportunities when it comes to designing writing assignments. This session brings together faculty from a range of disciplines to share diverse, practical approaches to teaching writing in light of AI鈥檚 growing presence.
Panelists will explore how they are reimagining assignment design to promote critical thinking, uphold academic integrity, and support meaningful student learning. Topics will include integrating AI ethically into coursework, fostering transparency and collaboration, designing assignments that resist formulaic outputs, and creating both AI-mediated and AI-free writing environments.
Whether you are actively incorporating AI into your teaching, setting boundaries around its use, or still developing your approach, this panel will offer grounded insights and adaptable strategies for writing-intensive courses.
