Alice Augusta Ball Day Celebration 2026

Join the campus community in honoring Alice Augusta Ball, UH鈥檚 first Black graduate and pioneering scientist whose chaulmoogra tree discovery became the most effective treatment for Hansen鈥檚 disease in the early 20th century.

This year鈥檚 program also recognizes her designation as a National Historic Chemical Landmark by the American Chemical Society.
