The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa welcomes James Koshiba, co-founder of , to speak on Monday, October 27, 5–6:30 p.m. at the Campus Center Ballroom as part of the .
Bringing his experience and knowledge, Koshiba will speak on the power of commitment, vulnerability and story in building successful enterprises that engage a mass audience—non-profit, for-profit and in between.
Koshiba is a community organizer, social entrepreneur and consultant. He co-founded and acted as CEO of Kanu Hawaiʻi, a non-profit that works to encourage sustainable behavior change and collective action. Kanu built a membership of 18,000 individuals spread across every Hawaiian island, 300 U.S. mainland communities and 12 countries in under 5 years. Additionally, Koshiba supports a variety of start-up social ventures, including Mindful Hawaiʻi, a resource for mindful living, island style.
