The released a promotional video sharing stories of inspiration and support from alumnus Chef Ed Kenney, Chef Ming Tsai, Foodland Chair Jenai Sullivan Wall and more. The video was produced by and debuted at the Hawaiʻi Food and Wine Festival.

Phase I of the construction project is nearly completed, and classes are scheduled to begin in 2017. Fundraising is now underway for the final phase of construction, and the finished project is set to include classrooms, laboratories, a signature, educational restaurant and more.

The purpose of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific is to be a world-class showcase of Hawaiʻi’s passion for the culinary arts. The institute is the ’ pathway to professional culinary education that partners with and to offer associate degrees and certificates in culinary arts, baking and pastry arts as well as a third-year professional certificate in culinary arts. will serve as facility administrator.

“I just imagine this world-class culinary facility, on the slopes of Diamond Head, with this incredible view, that offers chefs, diners, farmers—people from the world over—all of us can get together and share ideas,” said alumnus Chef Ed Kenney. “This is the place to do it. Because we are so connected to who we are, and where we came from in Hawaiʻi.”
