
The seventh annual culminated in early November with a gala dinner held at the . One of the highlights was a video of the University of Hawaiʻi’s , which is one of the festival’s seven community beneficiaries.
The video featured Chef Alan Wong and Instructor Tiffanie? ?Masutani—both graduates of the Kapiʻolani’s culinary program. Narrated by Michael W. Perry, the video highlights the Culinary Institute of the Pacific’s world-class facility which will serve students from all over the state. It was produced by Wendy Suite and Keoni Fernandez of Makaha Studios, with development assistance from Kelvin Ro.

The Culinary Institute of the Pacific is a collaborative initiative of six food service training programs within the University of on the four major islands. The vision is an advanced culinary campus that will benefit students from Hawaiʻi and the world who wish to hone their culinary skills and receive their third-year professional training certificate in restaurants and business management at the Diamond Head facility. Working in partnership with the , students also have the resources to gain their bachelor of applied science degree in culinary management.
The institute celebrated opening Phase I in March and is currently fundraising for Phase II.
