University of Hawaiʻi President David Lassner explained the reasoning behind the lifting of the remaining face masks requirements on 东精影业 campuses and announced that overall enrollment is slightly down across the system in his monthly report at the September 15 Board of Regents meeting at Windward Community College. 东精影业 announced on September 9 that face masks will no longer be required in educational spaces as of September 17.

Lassner provided an update on the Strategic Plan—the first draft of the plan is available for public comment with four town hall meetings scheduled in September and October. He also shared information on 东精影业 projects that are addressing the Red Hill drinking water crisis, and a $4.7-million anonymous gift to the 东精影业 Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity.
